Introduction
First Trinity received $171,000 as part of the COVID Relief Packages approved by congress. The Ministry Council formed a team (known as “The 171 Team”) to make some recommendations about how to best use this gift.

Step 1: Tithe
The first order of business was to tithe off the top. Members attending the congregational meeting on February 11, 2023 distributed the tithe among six pre-approved organizations. The total distributed was $17,100. The six organizations we supported were:
- Hearts for the Homeless
- Lutheran Early Response Teams
- Lutheran Hour Ministries
- Mercy House Global
- New York Adult and Teen Challenge
- Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission
Specific amounts send to each organization are available upon request or in the official minutes from the February 11 meeting.
Step 2: Mission and Ministry
After completing the tithe, the 171 Team is moving forward with the second phase of the project. The charge from the Ministry Council was to make a recommendation regarding how best to spend the remaining money to further the mission of God at First Trinity. We are seeking input from members regarding potential projects.
To submit a request, please complete the form using the button below. Submission deadline is May 31.
After the 171 Team completes submits their recommendation, the Ministry Council and Executive Ministry Team will review and make a final recommendation to the Voters Assembly. No specific timeline has been set to complete the work, but the earliest that action will happen is our next regularly scheduled meeting in August.
