Haiti Update – September 13, 2021

You can follow Israelson Isidor on Facebook where he posts often. Search for Israelson Isidor/FirmlyRooted Ministries. Here are some highlights of what’s been happening with our friends and ministry partners in Haiti: Pastor Versaillot Jean Claude of the church Carrefour du clu (the one that is currently being re-built) has been diagnosed with some heart problems; very serious, that may not be able to be addressed. Israelson was crying when he told us and asked us to please pray for him…

Haiti Update – September 4, 2021

We continue to hear from Israelson, who is out on the road every day, visiting churches and pastors all over Haiti. Here are some things he’s shared: He has run out of Sawyer Water Filters and is hoping to get more from his source, Fritz. Please keep this in your prayers. He has been taking hygiene kits (see pic below) to these remote places. They have soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. They are purchasing their supplies from local vendors in Les…

Haiti Update – September 2, 2021

We continue to get updates from our friends in Haiti, which is just so wonderful. The news is hard at times, but it’s also so clear that the Isidor family is making a difference, one life at a time. We got an email from Yelline Isidor Gelin saying that Gregory and Stephane are in Florida and will be for a while. They are with Yelline and Israelson’s brother Ezechias and Genet, their dad, is with them. She mentioned that she…

Haiti Update – September 1, 2021

Israelson Isidor spent this week with the people from LCMS Disaster Response. The LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) is the national church body that First Trinity is a part of. He was traveling with Rev. Dr. Ross Johnson and Jackie Rychel. Jackie has been doing work in Haiti for years–often in Jacmel. Also traveling with them was Pastor Marky, who is a leader in the Lutheran Church and also in Haiti (he was the mayor of Jacmel at one time).…

Haiti Update – August 23, 2021

Some reminders, friends, that the very best we can do right now is PRAY, send funds, and ask what they need. It is important to let our Haitian friends lead the way in this disaster response. They know their community. They know the needs. God has them in place and is using them for His purposes. It is helpful in a time like this to notice what God IS doing, and not what we think He isn’t. Some specific prayer…

Haiti Update – August 18, 2021

The izidor Family are our main partners in Les Cayes and Torbeck, Haiti. Pastor Isreal Izidor founded a church, school and orphanage along with a public well for water and training for area pastors in his short lifetime. He passed away from menegitis in about 15 years ago. The ministry continues by his wife, Leonie and, in Haiti, son Isrealson and daughter Yelline. Two other children, Ezechias and Ketura, live in the US. It might feel like praying is doing…

Congregational Meeting – September 19, 2020

We will gather in the sanctuary on Saturday, September 19 at 10 a.m. for our regularly scheduled congregational meeting. In addition to our normal business of electing officers for the Ministry Council and approving an operating budget, we will be voting to approve changes to our Constitution and ByLaws. We need a quorum of at least 50 people to approve the changes. We will be using our standard Health and Safety protocols for this meeting. If possible, please plan to…

2019-2020 Variable Tithe Designations

At First Trinity, we tithe 10% of our income to Christian ministries outside First Trinity (what joy to have the opportunity to be generous with what God has given us!). We love contributing to God’s work in our community, nation, and world. For 2019-2020, that means giving away approximately $82,500. While most of that is designated and amounts are in the budget, we have about $8,300 of variable tithe monies yet to designate.  At our congregational meeting on September 19,…

Congregational Meeting – July 11, 2020

We are holding a congregational meeting on July 11 at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. In addition to some normal business like reporting on ministry, finances, and ongoing projects, we will also be voting to form a call committee for the position of Associate Pastor as part of Vicar Jason’s seminary training. We will be using the following procedures for the meeting: Please enter through Door 1 (the main drive-up entrance). Bring a mask with you. If you don’t have…
