I Thessalonians

1 Thessalonians (a New Testament book) is a letter written for our times.  It was sent to a church facing all kinds of persecution and oppression from the government and from a pagan culture.  Paul gives words of hope and encouragement in troubled times. Join us as we dig into this timely book together. Led by Rev. Dr. Charles Whited, meets on the Lower Level (zoom option also).

I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist

Is there proof that the Bible is true, that God exists, and that Jesus was the Son of God?  How can we witness to those who don’t believe there is a God? This thought-provoking study by Dr. Frank Turek picks up where C.S. Lewis left off and contends that Christianity requires the least faith of all worldviews because it is the most reasonable.  Be sure to bring your Bible (and we’ll also have Bibles available).  Led by Susan Whited, meeting in the downstairs Conference Room.

A Praying Life: Connecting with God in a Distracting World

Based on the book by the same name by Paul Miller, we’ll dig into the topic of prayer. Prayer is hard. Often, unless circumstances demand it–such as an illness or saying grace before a meal–most of us simply do not pray. This class will include topics like how to deal with unanswered prayer and whether or not prayer makes a difference. A life of prayer invites you to a life of connection with God. Led by Sue Steege, meeting in the Library.
