Reading: “Analog Church: Why We Need Real People, Places, and Things in the Digital Age”

First Trinity’s Executive Ministry Team (EMT)* makes a practice of reading and discussing books together, to help us continue to grow spiritually and professionally. We thought we’d share those books here, in case you’d like to read them, as well.

This book was so interesting because it was encouraging us to be truly, physically present with each other in worship and in fellowship and with God’s Word and in every way, and it was published just before the pandemic forced us into such isolation. The author points out that while digital tools are helpful (and we are so thankful for the digital tools God gifted us with), face-to-face can’t be replaced. God uses our presence with each other in powerful ways. A new worship experience coming this October is a direct result of the EMT reading this book together. If you’d like to borrow one of our copies, let us know!

Up next, the EMT is reading “Lead: 12 Gospel Principles for Leadership in the Church” by Paul David Tripp

*The Executive Ministry Team (EMT) is made up of Pastor Chuck Whited, Pastor Jason Christ, Director of Care Ministries Marsha Peth, Director of Transformation Ministries Sue Steege, Director of Fellowship Ministries Carl Fretthold
