SEA CONTAINER ARRIVAL TESTIMONY

Tuesday, December 20, 2005

Following excitement, prayers, delays, frustrations, and then JOY the sea container finally arrived at 12:26AM this morning. The driver, Azar, apologized profusely saying that it took him until yesterday to get our items from the dock as he had to search and search for people who were willing to work, at the price that was negotiated on, to unload the sea container into two trucks, take a two day trip to Les Cayes, help unload in Les Cayes and then head back to Port-au-Prince.

So, at last, in the middle of the night, about 10 people helped with the unloading of two trucks. We were blessed to have a bright moon and electricity to help make the job much easier. By 4AM the task of unloading and placing all of the items in storage was complete. Now the sorting and organizing will begin.

I must share with you some of the “Oooooos” and “Aaaaaas” that came from those who were a part of the process. I heard, “That lumber would have cost us thousands of dollars if we were to have bought it in Haiti.” AND “I wish my father could have seen all that lumber (and happily he HAD, while it was in storage in Grand Rapids!)” AND “The bus tires are such a blessing!” AND “Won’t the boys at the orphanage be excited about the bicycles?? ” AND on and on and on!

Thank YOU for making this blessing possible!

Please pass this thank you on to all people that you know were involved with making this shipment possible! The ministry of Les Cayes Haiti is truly blessed to have so many items to distribute to the people of the church, the school, the community and to neighboring communities! We could not do the work without you! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
