At First Trinity Lutheran Church our mission is
"Transforming Our World, One Life at a Time, Through the
Power of God's Living Word".
First
Trinity Lutheran Church was established in 1839 on William
Street in the City Of Buffalo through the kindness of God,
by a small group of families who wished to hear God’s
Word. In 1847 we joined with 13 other Lutheran congregations
around the country to form what eventually became the Lutheran
Church – Missouri Synod. Since that time, our mission
has been to reach those who do not know the love of Jesus.
By
God’s blessing, the congregation grew. The Church
at Niagara Falls Boulevard was built in 1955 and in
1964 a new church was erected at 1570 Niagara Falls
Boulevard, our present location. Due in part to our
growing membership we found it necessary to expand
that building for more office and meeting space and
in 1996 our new administrative wing was completed along
with the enlargement of our entrance and narthex area.
Our
blessings have continued and we are proud to announce
the ground breaking in August 2001 for the addition
of a family life center at first Trinity. This new
center will allow expanded outreach programs to the
community in which we live, love, work and worship.
The addition consists of a combination gymnasium, theatre
and program hall for events such as family dinners,
basketball tournaments and dramatizations. Construction
was completed in September, 2003. Here is a
link to a photo album with current
pictures of our church and campus.
Yet,
the story of First Trinity is not about buildings.
It is about people who have been forgiven through the
blood of Jesus Christ. It is about people who, being
so served by Christ, wish to serve him and one another.
The Primary purpose of our church remains to share
the love of Jesus Christ with all, so that more people
may be saved eternally.
